Technology, science, and innovation will change the way people live and play. Advances in technology will have a huge impact on our lives. Let’s check out some advancement in technology that will probably change our lives forever over the coming decade or beyond. Some of these will have an immediate effect on the world while others will consume more time to make an impact.
Electric Clothes: The concept of the electric shirt, that uses different temperatures in your body to create electricity which can be later used for charging your devices. However, the shirt is only predicted to charge your device by 10-15% in the course of 8 hours. Physicists at Wake Forest University, North Carolina are behind this concept and developed a fabric that converts subtle differences in temperature across the span of the clothing into electricity.
Hyperloop: Hyperloop is a high-speed underground transport system that is currently being built and tested in America. It is a sealed tube or system of tubes through which a pod may travel free of air resistance or friction conveying people or objects at high speed while being very efficient.
Reversing Paralysis: Researchers have begun using brain-reading technology that will enable those with paralysis to move their limbs once again. An electronic implant in the brain connects to electrical stimulators located on the body to create a “neural bypass”. These advances would allow patients to regain control of their bodies.
Gene Editing: Imagine a future where we could edit a sick person’s DNA to make them better or remove the genes that enable mosquitoes to transmit malaria. We’re still in the early stages of development with genome editing tools, and there are a lot of questions about how to use this technology responsibly. But let’s be hopeful about the possibilities.
QTrobot: QTrobot is helping kids with autism learn. The humanoid body enables QTrobot to teach facial expressions, emotions and body language to children with autism. Taking some pressure off of parents and aiding therapists to keep children with autism engaged in learning will provide great relief to both.
