Following the path of Facebook, LinkedIn has come up with their brand new feature of ‘Reaction for posts’. Since LinkedIn is a serious plot for job search and business discussions, unlike Facebook which is a very casual platform, the reactions also differ.

In Facebook, you might have used various reactions like Like, Heart, Wow, Sad and Angry. But in LinkedIn, you will come across slightly different reactions that include Like, Celebrate, Love, Insightful and Curious. Launching the new feature, LinkedIn was quoted saying, “That’s why today we’re starting to roll out a set of reactions on LinkedIn, giving you more ways to quickly and constructively communicate with each other”.

LinkedIn, a Microsoft platform thus enables the users to share what they think of a particular job-related or business-related post. The LinkedIn officials have explained the ‘Love’ reaction as an expression of ‘deep resonance and support’ and ‘Celebrate’ as ‘praising an achievement’. LinkedIn believes that these reactions that a particular user receives for his post will help him ascertain the different users’ views about his/her posts.

Before introducing these reactions, LinkedIn critically researched the 1-2 words that are being used and the different types of posts that are being shared the most about which they commented, “We also conducted a global research, with LinkedIn members to get feedback on specific reactions to ensure they were universally understood and helpful”. However, the new feature will be available globally only in few months and can be used for the web as well as app platforms. LinkedIn hopes that these reactions help the users better understand the impact their posts are having.

Earlier this month, LinkedIn had introduced another feature where users could upload presentations or PDFs directly to the newsfeed. It also allows uploading documents in LinkedIn page or groups so as to procure maximum insights about the same from others, a feature made available on all platforms.
